Founder & CEO

Mr. John Alexander Derby is a Canadian citizen with more than twenty-five years experience in the investment banking and venture capital business, primarily in Canada, the Caribbean, Central and South America. Mr. Derby has been instrumental in developing more than a dozen companies which have gone on to become publicly listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the NASDAQ. He has experience with mining, oil and gas, and pharmaceutical companies.  The vast majority of these companies were successfully brought to market as reverse mergers and/or IPO’s.  Combined he has been involved in raising over $2 billion dollars for these ventures.

In 1998 Mr. Derby founded a brokerage firm in the Cayman Islands.  The Cayman Islands firm was licensed and regulated by the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority. Under Mr. Derby’s management and leadership, the firm established a reputation of high integrity and responsibility.  Mr. Derby sold his firm to a global money manager in 2003.

Mr. Derby resides in Panama and Mr. Derby holds ownership, management and executive roles in a number of private entrepreneurial endeavors, including projects ranging from financial ventures and real estate investments to the establishment of a boutique coffee production company.

Mr. Derby is a B.A. graduate from the University of Victoria.
